Specialist Support Staff
ELERI PARKHURST - School Nurse
I am delighted to be returning to Shobnall School to be involved in supporting the school community. Any worries or concerns can be directed to me via the school office. I am happy to help with individual queries on matters such as, sleep patterns, behaviour, emotional, enuresis, or any other concerns you may have relating to your child. I am looking forward to delivering parent classes and health education classes within the school.
RACHEL KNIGHT - Special Educational Needs
It is a pleasure supporting Shobnall School and working in partnership with them to support children with Special Educational Needs. I am able to bring my experience to the school having completed a Masters Degree in Special Educational Needs and enjoy meeting the parents and children with whom I work so that we can work together to make a difference. I have a good working relationship with all staff who I find particularly hard working, helpful and conscientious. It is always a pleasure visiting such a caring, nurturing school.
DR VANESSA WILLIS - Educational Psychologist
My role is varied and interesting. Initially, I trained as a primary school teacher. Subsequently I took further qualifications and qualified as an Educational Psychologist, after studying at Birmingham University.
I am keen to help young children who may be experiencing problems with their learning by giving specialist advice and suggesting intervention programmes which promote their well being and development. Working with such a friendly school such as Shobnall, enables me to work collaboratively with teachers, pupils and parents.
THE REVEREND PAUL FARTHING - Friend and Support of the School
As Vicar of Saint Aidan's, across the road from the school, I enjoy welcoming the whole school into church for special services, and come into school regularly to lead assemblies. Shobnall School is an outstanding school, and the close relationship between the school and Saint Aidan's is an important part of that. It is also a great joy to see pupils from the school in church for family services, and on special occasions such as christenings.
