I would like to say a big thank you to staff , children, governors and parents alike for making my first two terms at Shobnall so enjoyable.  It is a lovely school where everyone works hard to achieve their best.  The pupils are so well mannered too.  I now feel I am making a positive impact to the team and look forward to many more happy terms working with everyone.  I wish everyone a safe and happy (well deserved) summer holiday and look forward to returning in September for the start of the new school year, refreshed and ready to go.

I am Helen Foster.  I have worked at Shobnall School for several years and I am the number one ‘tea’ maker in the school.  My two grown-up sons, who are now at University, both attended Shobnall School.  I am a regular member of St. Aidan’s Church and also enjoy attending services at Lichfield Cathedral, along with my husband Tom.  I love cats, especially my pet ‘Furby’ and spend many hours walking my neighbour’s dog ‘Sooty’.

If you talk to the long term residents of Shobnall I am sure they will remember the 'Norman' family who lived locally. Mrs Norman with her 5 children, who all attended Shobnall Primary School - quite a record at the time! Well, number four was Betty Norman - who would have thought that many years later (too many to mention) that I would return to Shobnall to become part of the school family. Mrs. Roobottom mentioned on my interview day that I would 'never be bored' as each day promotes a different challenge - how true her words were! The children of Shobnall are lovely to be with and this applies to the staff as well!!

Outside of school I love to travel with my husband Terry and follow his beloved 'Spurs' football team. My lifelong ambition is to visitAustralia and climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge! We also enjoy walking, cycling and gardening.

I am Kate May and new to the area as I am originally from North Yorkshire. I have had a warm welcome when I joined the team and have enjoyed my time so far.

In my spare time I like to spend time with my family. My husband , David, works away so I don't see as much of him as I'd like; and my little girl is growing far too quickly!
