Teaching Assistants
MRS. S. CURRAN
I have been at Shobnall School for several years, the majority of these in the Nursery. Helping the children develop in all areas, seeing them gain confidence, independence and making sure they enjoy their first stage of school is a fulfilling and enjoyable role.
Weekends and holidays I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends.
MRS. H. GHENT
I have worked at Shobnall Primary School for over ten years. I enjoy working with a fantastic team. I have worked in all Year Groups from Nursery up to Year 6. I am always very proud of the children I work with and their enthusiasm for learning.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
MRS. R. HILL
Shobnall School is a great place to work; I started as a parent helper when my children were here. Then I was given an official teaching assistant’s job. I gained some qualifications and I’m still here. There’s never a dull day, we all look after each other and have a lot of fun as well as working hard. When I am not at school I enjoy photography, gardening and reading, or any combination of these.
MRS. M. HOWELL
The most important people in my life are my family and friends, spending time together is my favourite pastime. I also enjoy working, visiting and exploring new places. I have a good sense of humour (not always fully appreciated!) and think I get on well with most people.
I find my job at Shobnall is very rewarding and I enjoy watching children grow and become more independent. The end of year leavers (Y6) always cry, and more often than not so do I! It is lovely to see them moving on but at the same time so sad to seem them venture out into the big wide world of Secondary School, and all the responsibilities that holds - although many do come back to visit ………..which makes me feel old when I see how they have grown!
MRS. T. MARSTON
I have worked at Shobnall School for several years and enjoyed every minute. The children are a pleasure to work with. I feel privileged to be a member of Shobnall School and to be working alongside a fantastic team of staff.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family.
MRS. W. RILEY
I thoroughly enjoy working with the children at Shobnall School. They are a lively friendly bunch who, often make me smile and feel proud of their achievements. I have worked at Shobnall School for a number of years and have enjoyed being a part of the school team. When I am not working I like to walk my dog ‘Hugo’ to give not only him exercise but me as well!
MRS. S. ROBERTS
Shobnall School has been part of my life for many years as a parent, parent helper, P.F.A. of which I am still an active member, Lunchtime Supervisor and Teaching Assistant.
As a Teaching Assistant I work in the Foundation Stage with the younger children. I support the class teacher and work with individuals and groups of children covering all aspects of the foundation curriculum.
At the end of the school year I am always very proud of the children on how they have grown up and how hard they have worked and celebrate with them all the achievements they have made in their first full time year at Shobnall School.
MRS. P. ROOBOTTOM
I have spent 30 years (Wow! Can it really be that long?) delivering social and formal education, spanning all age groups. The last 13 years of these have been spent at Shobnall Primary School working as a T.A. In these years my role has been both varied and sometimes challenging, but never boring, working with KS1 and KS2 across the curriculum, helping to develop children’s awareness and enhancing their learning to the best of their ability.
My great passion is art and crafts and I gain much satisfaction from being able to pass on skills to children and creating school displays. I am proud and privileged to be part of a close knit and effective team of dedicated staff that we have here are Shobnall.

MRS. R. SHORT
I have worked at Shobnall Primary School for many happy years. Each day is different and everyday is new. There is never a dull moment and the children always keep you on your toes. It is a privilege to work within the school family with children eager to learn and staff that are happy to support and nurture.
