    Lots of action was happening at Forest School this week. Along with it being our last session this half term, our new Forest School shed and log store has arrived at school and work has begun to erect them! Very exciting!

    Spring was certainly in the air this week at Forest School, the sun shone which lifted everyone’s spirits! The children had to quickly learn immense patience and cooperation for this week’s warm up activity, which was a game of ‘Count off’. The winning team managed to count collectively up to 22 after many failed attempts of calling out the same number altogether, but a group strategy soon helped!

    The children had a brilliant time during Forest School this week. They used the beads cut from elder branches in last week’s session to create some exciting bracelets. The children very carefully coloured the beads using felt tips and threaded them carefully onto string. They were very proud and surprised that they had made these wonderful items from a tree!

    A fun game of ‘Earth, Air or Water’ began this week’s Forest School session. Children worked in smaller groups and when a ball was thrown to them, had to think of a creature that lives (or spends a lot of its time) in either the earth, air or water.

    Our penultimate forest school session was properly the muddiest yet! The children still learnt a lot despite trying not to slip over. We revisited last week’s session and discussed the art work we created and we also reflected on our observations of wildlife. This week we learnt a new knot called a timber hitch, or as the children called it, “Sammy
