Nursery Forest School Week 4

The children began their Forest school session with a balloon bop game in which they had to stand in small circles holding hands whilst keeping the green frog balloons in the air, a little tricky to start but the Nursery children persevered and had some successes with lots of fun.

This week the activities were linked to the story ‘The Princess and the Frog’ with lots of frogs hiding in the trees and bushes for the children to find. There was also a lillypad number recognition and sequencing activity they enjoyed as well as decorating their own lillypads by painting with leaves and feathers.

Frog stones were also created and the children compared the many different sizes and shapes of the stones used. There were also many princess and princes today wearing their very own nature crowns which they had made from the wonderful materials found in the forest.

There was lots of excitement as the children joined in with some pond dipping. The highlight of this was the discovery of a newt by Jonah, it was great for the children to have a closer look and they decided to give him the name Freddie. We hope to see him again in future weeks.

After another busy morning the children all joined in with some songs and enjoyed a hot chocolate still buzzing with excitement over own new found friend Freddie the newt.
