NOTE FOR RECEPTION PARENTS!
Children will NOT be required to come dressed to school for P.E until they start FULL TIME. Many thanks!
Hi! I am Miss Alexander and I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of the EYFS team as the Reception class teacher at Shobnall Primary School. I thoroughly enjoy being part of the children’s journeys as they gain knowledge and develop skills to become successful learners. I am passionate about providing fun and creative experiences and enjoy thinking of numerous ways to make the children’s learning memorable and exciting.
Support staff that work alongside me in the Reception class are Miss Walton, Mrs Shannon and Mr Attwood.
If you would like to find out a bit more about me, have a look at the poster below…
Children arrive through the EYFS gate at 8:45am and are collected at 3:20pm. During these unprecedented times, these arrangements are slightly different so please check your individual letter that was sent to you in the summer term and the COVID-19 Info page on the website for further information.
Children will self-register by placing their name into a box indicating their dinner choice.
During the second half of the autumn term children will be given a weekly guided reading book in a named folder. This should be kept in book bags each day.
Homework is given out on a Friday and expected to be returned in the labelled box by the following Wednesday.
Each Friday children will also receive the phonemes that will be covered from the following Monday along with a phonics activity. This should be placed in the phonics box on a Thursday.
The children have P.E sessions on Wednesdays and Fridays with our specialist P.E teacher Mr Attwood. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, P.E will be taught outside as much as is possible in smaller groups. Children will need to come to school in their kit on their allocated day. An outdoor kit should consist of jogging bottoms, a sweatshirt and trainers. For health and safety, children who wear earrings should have these removed on P.E. days.
Please ensure all children’s clothing, footwear, bags and water bottles are clearly named.
Please click on the link below to view our weekly timetable. Please note that this my be subject to change.
We follow the EYFS framework and base activities around the 7 areas of learning:
- Communication and language
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Physical development
- Expressive arts and design
- Understanding the world
Each half term the children’s learning will be linked to a theme-
Autumn Term 1: Home Sweet Home
Autumn Term 2: Let’s Celebrate!
Spring Term 1: Our Heroes
Spring Term 2: Once Upon a Time
Summer Term 1: All Creatures Great and Small
Summer Term 2: Bon Voyage!
Homework is set on a Friday and must be handed in by following Wednesday. Work will be uploaded here on a weekly basis for Reception.
