To begin our jungle animal theme, we played a class game called ‘Please Mr. Crocodile’. The children displayed great sportsmanship as they carried out this ‘tag’ based game.
This week we learnt how to use a filing rasp and created patterns on our snake sticks; the children were amazed with the different colours that emerged as they filed away the different layers.
Another new skill we learnt was how to weave using ‘green’ sticks on a simple stick weaving frame.
We also loved comparing leaves as we made our jungle trees and painted sticks to represent some hissing snakes. What a busy session, we were ready for our hot chocolate and snack at the end!
