Nursery Forest School, 2 November 2017
December 11, 2017 Rebecca Ellerton

Today was the Nursery children’s first ever trip to our school’s own Forest School site.   They began by entering the outdoor classroom and meeting a very special person – Adventure Ted!  He showed the children around by giving them a guided tour of the area.  The children learned how to spot dangers around them and what to do to keep themselves safe.  The children identified the pond, nettles, and big sticks as hazards and them listened to Mrs.Wheeler, Mrs.Curran and Mrs.Lakin whilst they explained how to be safe around these things.

Once the children had well and truly explored the area, they relaxed with some hot chocolate and biscuits.  Gathered around the fire circle, the children learned the rules of this part of the site…without the fire!  They learned how to sit and move around the fire circle safely, showing respect for the fire that they will encounter next year with Mrs. Farrington, in the Reception Class.  They children will certainly sleep well tonight!
